In addition to leasing Ceva an 80,000 sq ft warehouse complex in Daventry, Nene Group has fitted out the warehouse with racking and ancillary products supplied through Nene’s Rentarack rack rental scheme.
Ceva is using the warehouse for a contract with iON, a group led by office equipment manufacturer Xerox.
Nene has supplied the racking system to match the lease term of the warehouse, which links to Ceva’s contract with iON. The flexibility of the Rentarack scheme has enabled the deal to be put together within a minimum time frame with racking delivered and installed from order to final commissioning in just eight weeks.
“Renting racking for a fixed term on behalf of iON fitted our requirements exactly”, said Simon Robinson, warehouse design manager at Ceva Logistics. “Nene is the only company offering this service. We have not only rented racking but also ancillary products including wire mesh decks and rack deflectors. In fact we were able to rent everything right down to waste receptacles.”
Nene’s design team collaborated with Ceva in creating a solution for the warehouse that maximised the space available. With this completed and agreed by Ceva, work began in turning the building into a fully functional warehouse facility using adjustable pallet racking, live store racking, long span shelving and small parts shelving.
Nene has fitted out all the racking with mesh decking to accommodate the storage and picking of cartons. Anti-collapse mesh has been fitted to the rear of the pallet racking in areas of concentrated pedestrian activity to prevent items falling on employees. Further health and safety features included the installation of racking protection barriers.
