Children’s retailer Adams has commissioned Retail Assist to replace its current supply chain and merchandising system with the Merret.NET application.
The two companies have worked with each other since 1999 and have recently renewed their IT outsourcing relationship in a multi-million pound five-year contract.
This is the first contract Retail Assist has secured for the .NET version of its Merret application, which will be used for the retailer’s merchandising and distribution centre management. It will also use Merret BI for its business intelligence and reporting.
Adams will operate a single system that supports planning and interfaces with its automated sortation warehouse system and e-commerce, replacing its current JDA and Business Objects systems.
Merret.NET will provide in-season planning, allocation and replenishment, inward and outward distribution, management of product, pricing, purchase orders, warehousing and distribution, together with merchandising analysis, business intelligence and store back-office.
The system has also been designed to support the retailer’s growing multi-channel, multi-site and international businesses.
David Carter-Johnson, chief executive of Adams, said: “By implementing Merret.NET, we will gain a modern, flexible and fully-supported packaged solution that will make us more productive, giving us better management information and control.”
