Kuehne + Nagel has appointed Peter Ulber to the International AG Management Board with effect from 1st January 2009.
Ulber is currently regional director northwest Europe, responsible for around 10,000 employees at 120 locations in the UK, Denmark, Finland, Ireland, Norway and Sweden.
In his new role he will be in charge of the business unit Sea & Air Logistics, taking over from Reinhard Lange who is set to become group CEO on the same date.
Ulber first joined the company is 1983 and has held various management positions within the North American organisation. In 1988 he was promoted to regional director of South America and in 2001 became national manager of the UK organisation before taking up his current role in 2006.
Klaus-Michael Kuehne, executive chairman of the board of directors of Kuehne + Nagel International AG, said: “For many years Peter Ulber has successfully held a number of key management positions within our company. With his broad logistics know-how and professional experience he will excellently complement our corporate management team.”
