Global logistics provider Agility has signed an agreement to acquire Shanghai-based Baisui United Logistics, in a bid to enhance its domestic network in China.
Baisui provides a range of logistics services including intra-city, regional and long-haul transport and warehousing, predominantly to the chemical, automotive and FMCG sectors.
It has more than 300 employees in 15 locations throughout China and manages eight logistics centres with some 130,000 sq m warehouse floor space.
James Gagne, chief executive officer, greater China area for Agility, said: “Baisui Logistics complements our growing service offering in China, both vertically in specialist sectors and by providing improved connectivity through the company’s extensive domestic transport network.
“We will continue to grow organically and through acquisition in order to provide our customers with an integrated logistics solution throughout China.”
This is the second acquisition Agility has made in China this year and is part of the company’s aggressive growth strategy for the region.
