Lockheed Martin chose Manhattan Associates’ Transport Lifecycle Management (TLM) to improve its transport management processes. The system is designed to help Lockheed Martin maintain control of its network and make the right transport decisions based on costs, service needs, locations and carrier commitments.
Lockheed Martin will use the system to improve logistics and execute shipments across its multi-national, multi-modal, multi-leg transport network. TLM will optimise inbound and outbound transport moves through a single user interface, and provide a holistic view of Lockheed Martin’s transport network.
The system will enable Lockheed Martin to avoid events that cause delays while reducing costs.
Manhattan’s subscription-based software-as-a-service TLM will initially manage transport for Lockheed Martin divisions domestically, with international locations to follow.
“With more than 35 shipping and receiving facilities in combination with more than 1,000 suppliers, Lockheed Martin was looking for a solution to help us manage and optimise our complex distribution environment,” said Leon LaTant, manager, transport services, Lockheed Martin.
Manhattan offers both software-as-a-service and perpetual licensed software for Transport Lifecycle Management so that customers can choose the form that best matches their goals for functionality, control, speed to market and return on investment.
