High street retailer Primark has taken the former Ikea distribution depot on Huntingdon Road, Thrapston, Northamptonshire as part of its ongoing expansion plans.
It has secured a ten-year lease on 640,000 sq ft former furniture warehouse at a rent of £4.50 per sq ft. The facility on a 33.74-acre site boasts a 606,782 sq ft modern high bay distribution warehouse constructed in 1998 of steal portal frame construction with clad elevations and 12,483 sq ft of offices.
The cross dock warehouse, which is arranged over five bays and divided into three ‘chambers’ internally, has a 14.5m eaves height and has 36 dock level and two level access loading doors as well as parking for 115 lorries and 156 cars. It also has a 14,000 sq ft open side pallet store.
