Geodis Calberson has renewed its UK fleet with 11 articulated trucks – four from Volvo and seven from DAF. Six Schmitz curtain-side trailers have been added for direct road services, UK collection and delivery, and European groupage use. Krone units will replace 14 double-deck box units used for, and a further 13 of Geodis’ existing trailer fleet are to be refurbished.
The box trailers have improved security features to help reduce transport-related crime, such as theft of product, theft of unit and the risk of illegal immigration.
Laurie Doe, commercial director of Geodis, said: “This investment demonstrates Geodis Calberson’s commitment to the UK. It’s a measure of the importance we place on our customers’ freight that we have invested to ensure the highest possible security levels on all of the new acquisitions – giving further confidence to customers about the safety of their consignments.”
