Volvo Construction Equipment is to cut 850 more jobs in Sweden as a result of the slowdown in the global construction equipment market.
This follows on from the 500 jobs which Volvo CE announced it was axing earlier this autumn.
Yngve Rosén, president of Hauler Loader Business Line, Volvo CE, said: “The actions we are taking now are needed in order to adjust production capacity to declining demand and to ensure that the company is coming out stronger from this downturn.”
It is estimated that out of the 850 employees, approximately 10 per cent are white collars and the rest are blue collars.
