Developer Bericote has handed over Asda’s new 75,000 sq ft recycling centre at the Pattinson Industrial Estate in Sunderland.
As part of Asda’s environmental strategy, the building will house its recycling operations helping to reduce its environmental impact and drive down distribution costs. The location of the new centre will enable Asda to reduce its total HGV journeys by thousands of miles per year and the building design will enable over 90 tonnes of CO2 to be saved annually. The new centre is located adjacent to an existing warehouse and will see the creation of 60 new jobs in the local area.
