Kerry Asia Road Transport (KART), the Thailand-based road transport company which is part of Kerry Logistics, is launching a service between Kunming in China and Bangkok.
The new service will connect the company’s South East Asian network to China for the first time and provide trucking from Singapore to the north of the country.
KART plans to add another route from Guangxi province to Vietnam later in the year.
Within China Kerry EAS, another Kerry company, has built a nationwide transport and logistics platform. This can now be accessed through KART’s Kunming hub enlarging Kerry’s logistics network across China and the rest of the south east Asian region. Kerry Logistics says it will also enable its European customers to develop their supply chain options for sourcing in and exporting to the region.
Alex Ng, assistant general manager of KART South East Asia, said: “The new integrated network, operated totally by Kerry Logistics companies, will provide shippers with an option to truck directly to anywhere in South East Asia or China and the service will also provide direct connections to all major airports and ports.”
