Entertainment logistics specialists KB Event, whose clients include Red Bull, The Stereophonics, Microsoft and Sir Paul McCartney, has invested £1 million on 12 new vehicles.
The company operate from two bases, Nottingham and London, and has a permanent staff of 50. The new Scanias consist of five new tractor units, two 7.5 tonne rigids, two 18 tonne rigids and three 26 tonne rigids.
The 26 tonners offers clients greater load room than the 18 tonne rigids without having to go to the size and expense of a 45 tonne vehicle. This is expected to prove popular with bands on tour as it will allow management to carry more tour equipment, in particular backline equipment, at less cost.
In May, KB Event became the first UK based transport company to be successfully registered to the Acorn Environmental Standard BS8555.
