Kuehne + Nagel has appointed Tim Scharwath head of the North West Europe region, effective from 1st January 2009.
He takes over from Peter Ulber who was recently appointed to the management board of Kuehne + Nagel International AG.
Scharwath has been with the company since 1992 in a number of management positions within operations, sales and marketing, and was appointed to the board in Germany as executive vice president airfreight in 2004.
His remit was then extended in 2006 to cover the whole of central Europe.
Most recently Scharwath has been responsible for the Netherlands’ organisation as national manager, in which he managed the integration of the national ACR Logistics business and developed the contract logistics and lead logistics solutions activities, particularly within the retail sector.
Kuehne + Nagel’s North West European organisation is headquartered in Uxbridge in the UK.
