Wincanton, has won a contract to manage the logistics in France for Blédina, a baby food manufacturer that is part of the Danone Group.
It will operate from Blédina’s new regional base in the South-East of France. Wincanton was chosen to pilot its new site in St Quentin Fallavier in south-east France, taking on responsibility for a team of 20 people in the 16,000 sq m warehouse, which supplies supermarkets across the South of France. Wincanton also works alongside the customer during peak periods to manage product promotional activity and run the co-packing services. The site uses voice-picking technology.
It is Wincanton’s second warehouse operation for the baby food giant. The first warehouse, located in Bondoufle, has been working with Blédina since 1999 and runs all the dedicated logistics to supermarkets, nurseries and chemists in the Paris region, the North of France and Brittany, as well as managing exports to 60 supermarkets, nurseries and chemists.
“We have set up what we call “shared progress” with Wincanton, our logistics partner. It is a stimulating approach for both parties as we have worked very closely together for the past nine years. Wincanton partners our growth curve and knows how to propose innovative solutions which have been successfully implemented,” said Maarten Hut, supply chain director at Blédina.
