Ceva Logistics is set to open a new consolidated distribution centre for agricultural machinery manufacturer John Deere in Brazil.
The partnership between the two companies began in 2003 and included two sites, one in Catalão and another in Horizontina.
The new combined site in Campinas, Sao Paulo, which is positioned next to the Viracopos airport and the Santos Dumont highway, will be operational during the first quarter of 2009 and is expected to improve efficiency in the use of resources and movement of replacement parts.
For the transport activities at the new site, Ceva will use SIT (Transport Information Service), telephone service to control the network of operators and the Ceva Orion system, used to control emission information and CTRC (Knowledge of Road Transportation of Loads) through the web.
