ProLogis has submitted plans for a 46,500 sq ft warehouse for Specsavers at North Kettering Business Park in Northampton.
The bespoke warehouse, which could create up to 150 jobs in the area, is expected to be up and running in May.
The site will be used as a distribution and storage facility for shops across the Midlands. The building was taken on a 15-year lease at a rent of £5.75 per sq ft. Letting agents were Savills and Budworth Brown. A ProLogis Developments spokesperson said: “North Kettering Business Park is becoming more established with the introduction of further occupiers and the addition of up to 150 jobs to the local economy represents a positive step, particularly in the current economic climate.”
The land earmarked for the warehouse has previously been used for farming. The site already has warehouses used by Argos, Bosch and Siemens and there are development opportunities for new warehouse and office facilities.
