Former chief executive of Deutsche Post Klaus Zumwinkel has been slapped with a two-year suspended jail sentence and a one million euro fine for tax evasion, according to press reports from Germany.
Zumwinkel was forced to resign in February last year when the allegations were first made. During the hearing last week, he confessed to evading approximately 966,000 euros in taxes, which he had hidden in trust funds in Liechtenstein.
He was found guilty of tax evasion between 2002 and 2006 by Bochum state court in Germany on Monday 1st Feb.
