There is no better time to visit Logistics Link which is taking place at Sandown Park near Esher today.
With more than 100 exhibitors taking part, Logistics Link South is the one stop shop to satisfy all supply chain needs, offering visitors the perfect opportunity to stay up-to-date with the newest products, systems and services available to help drive down costs and increase efficiency. The show is running on Tuesday 3rd and Wednesday 4th February.
Isuzu Trucks is on display at Logistics Link for the first time. Glenside Isuzu Commercials offers the full range of four by two rigid models spanning 3.5, 5, 6.2, 7.5, 11, 12, 15 and 18 tonners. With a newly launched product range, Isuzu reckons the ‘Forward’ N75.190 7.5 tonner offers more body/payload potential than any other vehicle in its class.
SSI Schaefer has substantially increased its stand space at this year’s show. Bob Jane, business development manager, says: “At Logistics Link South we aim to demonstrate to visitors our full range of design, consultancy and installations services, from basic racking and shelving systems through to fully integrated automated high-bay warehousing and high speed order picking systems.” Visitors will also be able to make an appointment to see the company’s revamped solutions centre at its headquarters in Andover, where they can view and try out the full product range. Northampton-based Dynamic Systems will be making its second appearance at Logistics Link South this year, and will take the opportunity to promote its expertise in the design, supply and installation of storage solutions, from racking and shelving to mezzanine floors, live storage and automation equipment. The company will also be highlighting its five-point plan which comprises a free initial feasibility study, professional AutoCAD design and presentation; independent and impartial product advice; project management through final handover; and after-sales service and support.
Narrow Aisle, the manufacturer of very narrow aisle man-down and man-up trucks, order pickers and reach trucks, is highlighting its recently launched Flexi Euro at this year’s Sandown Park show. The compact four-wheel articulated forklift truck is capable of working in aisles as narrow as 1,642mm-wide with a Euro pallet, or 1,762mm-wide with an ISO pallet, thanks to its 1,060mm-wide chassis and narrow front axle. It is particularly suited to low-bay warehouses where high lift performance is not required but space is limited.
bpi.films manufactures pallet stretch wrap developed to meet demanding storage and transit conditions. The team is demonstrating various products at the show, including its new hand films Wrapsmartultra and Zeroll. Wrapsmartultra offers the performance of a 14 micron film from a profile of seven microns, reducing the volume needed to wrap a load and helping to cut costs and packaging waste, while Zeroll contains no cardboard core to reduce waste. The manufacturer will also be offering more information about its free Wrap Audits, which illustrate how users can wrap pallets more efficiently to reduce transit packaging costs.
Dematic is highlighting solutions to address the challenges small and medium sized companies are facing today, such as reducing costs, improving productivity and increasing accuracy. At its seminars, being held in Theatre 1 at 1pm on Tuesday and 10.45am on Wednesday, the company will be presenting systems for improving the performance of case and item picking, including voice picking, voice-pick guided vehicles and zone routeing systems integrating voice or pick-to-light, along with global and local case studies. Following the seminars Dematic will also be offering hands-on demonstrations of these technologies at its stand and members of the team will be available to discuss specific logistics challenges.
Diamond Phoenix is unveiling its newest rail-guided stacker crane, the MaxTriever MiniLoad SRM, which can handle totes, cartons, boxes and other items and is designed to help companies realise high capacity and high speed throughput. The crane is suitable for use in cold storage, coolers and ambient warehouses and offers complete system integration, lower cost with higher performance and the ability to integrate off-the-shelf control components.
Ceewhy Vancouver is a third party logistics fulfilment house based in the South East. It is showing visitors its complete range of services, including warehousing, storage, stock picking and packing, dispatch, reworking and kitting, along with full, real-time stock and order management IT control from web to warehouse.
British routeing and scheduling solutions provider DPS and TomTom Work are demonstrating how they have combined forces to offer a fully integrated end-to-end route scheduling and job dispatch solution. The agreement, which was announced in December 2008, allows scheduling and route planning to be optimised using the real-time information provided by TomTom Work. In particular, ETAs from the TomTom Navigation device are fed back to the DPS scheduling platform, allowing the system to react to changing conditions on the road in real-time.
Paragon is showcasing its routeing, scheduling and transport optimisation software solutions. It will be showing its latest version, Paragon 5.0, which has a range of new enhancements, as well as its recently launched Carbon Minimiser functionality to reduce carbon emissions, Fleet Controller which compares live fleet activity with planned schedules, and Paragon HDS for combined home delivery order management and route optimisation.
Knapp UK is showing its OSR system for the storage and picking of slow-moving products, and its ASRS solution, Speeder-System. The company offers paperless order fulfilment with solutions including RF, pick-by-light and voice-directed technology and can provide its own WMS, or can integrate its handling equipment with WMS products from other suppliers.
RedPrairie is highlighting its supply chain and retail solutions suite, which is built on an advanced Service Oriented Architecture, including warehouse management, workforce management, duty management and transport management solutions.
