D S Smith has extended its contract with Bibby Distribution at its Featherstone factory for a further three years.
The two companies have worked together since 2003 and have now added inbound reel traffic to help keep transport charges to a minimum.
As part of the contract 20 new trailers, 13 in the DSSP livery, have been built which have higher than usual internal measurements to meet customer requirements.
In addition, Telematic Vehicle Monitoring systems have been fitted to increase safety and boost fuel efficiency. Pallet monitoring and collection services have also been introduced to reduce pallet purchase costs.
A spokesperson at DSSP Featherstone said: “The extension of the contract sees a further strengthening and a deeper integration of Bibby into our logistics and supply chain.
“The partnership promotes a closer working relationship that is necessary to drive efficiencies and good customer service whilst generating opportunities to improve both company’s carbon foot print and their impact on the environment.”
