Jost will be offering free ten-point fifth wheel safety checks in a move to promote the launch of its safety campaign – “Stay Safe With Jost” – designed to help boost safety levels in the road transport industry.
The offer is open to all operators having the check carried out at the company’s site on the Heywood Distribution Park, Heywood, Lancashire.
Technical director Dave Deri said: “We are introducing a fifth wheel check as the most common problems we see occurring are purely down to a lack of maintenance. This is because fifth wheels are too often regarded as ‘fit and forget’ items, which is simply not the case.
“Maintained properly, a fifth wheel will give years of trouble-free service. We are therefore offering our ten-point check free of charge to promote this fact and I would encourage as many operators as possible to take advantage of this safety service.”
