Chemicals specialist Scott Bader Co, part of the Scott Bader Group, has signed a three-year contract with DHL Exel Supply Chain to provide it with logistics services.
Under the agreement, DHL will be responsible for the distribution of bulk chemicals, including unsaturated resins and non-hazardous emulsions, to various customer factories throughout the UK from the company’s manufacturing facility in Northamptonshire.
DHL will be employing a core fleet of five tankers and two tractor units to fulfil the contract and will also provide Scott Bader UK with transport management support and the flexibility to add extra vehicles to the fleet during busy periods.
Stuart Carlyon, head of chemicals at DHL Exel Supply Chain, said: “Increasingly we are seeing well established chemicals businesses re-evaluating their supply chains and adopting best practice models that have been pioneered and proven in other sectors.
“The collaborative approach we have taken with Scott Bader means that we will continue to identify supply chain optimisation projects in the future, to deliver logistics efficiencies as an ongoing, seamless process.”
