Geodis Calberson has launched Top 48, a new service for British companies exporting into France, which guarantees delivery of all goods, door-to-door within 48 hours of dispatch.
The service is aimed at providing high-tech, automotive, textiles, healthcare and cosmetics industries with a distribution channel direct to retailers and end users.
It is serviced by Geodis Calberson’s cross-channel network which comprises 12 regional platforms and 140 local delivery branch offices, including its new hub at Bonneuil near Saint-Denis, Paris, which can handle up to 70,000 items a day.
Single or multiple package consignments can be carried from any part of the UK, with a maximum weight allowance of 1,000kg and maximum length of four metres.
* Elsewhere, Geodis Calberson is celebrating 20 years of working with Sunrise Medical, the maker of homecare and extended care products.
The agreement covers air, sea and road freight. In the UK the company manages all domestic, European and Scandinavian road freight from the company’s manufacturing facility in Stourbridge in the West Midlands.
While inbound, Geodis is responsible for Sunrise Medical’s sea freight from plants in North America and the Far East, direct to its distribution sites across Europe.
Weekly air freight consolidations arrive in the UK for integration to the Geodis UK road network for delivery to the same Sunrise distribution sites in Europe.
