Kia Motors is moving its parts operation to a larger warehouse in Tamworth, Staffordshire to support its entire UK dealer network.
The 209,000 sq ft warehouse, which is managed by Mobis, will provide the Korean manufacturer and its dealers with space for 240,000 product lines that need inventory management.
The facility has the capacity to allow up to five months worth of stock holding and will enable Kia to offer its dealers a next day delivery service thanks to its central location.
Hamish McCowan, after sales and logistics director at Kia Motors UK, said: “Moving to the Mobis UK parts facility will provide our dealer network with greatly improved levels of inventory along with the latest in system and inventory management technology.”
The Mobis UK parts facility opened at the end of 2008 and is managed by around 60 office and warehouse staff.
