Crane manufacturer Liebherr has taken delivery of two Combilift 4-way forklifts to handle a diverse range of bulky products at its manufacturing facility in Biberach in the south of Germany.
The company has to move parts for tower cranes which measure up to 12.43m x 2.3m, weighing around 12 tonnes each and previously used conventional sideloaders, but found their lack of manoeuvrability limiting.
Liebherr is now using two diesel-powered Combilifts, including the first 14-tonne model, which has large tyres for outdoor use and good ground clearance, and a smaller four-tonne truck for lighter work in the undercover storage area.
