Packaging manufacturer bpi.films has invested £10 million in enhancing its Leominster factory, increasing production capacity by 40 per cent.
The company produces a range of pallet stretch, shrink and converter films, but the move will allow it to manufacture a new series of next generation films.
Bpi.films spent two years identifying a production plant which offered longevity, a further 14 months to build, install and customise the new machinery.
It has created two new multi-layer production lines to complement a number of existing multi-layer lines already operational at the Leominster site, along with a new pre-stretch machine.
In addition, a new building has been constructed to accommodate the new plant, which has increased the overall footprint of the manufacturer’s Leominster factory by 2,000 sq m.
Twelve new jobs have also been created as a result of the investment and subsequent expansion.
