Building products supplier Toolstation has enlisted Dexion-PSS Group to design, supply and install a racking system for its new regional distribution centre in Redditch.
The 140,000 sq ft warehouse has been established to facilitate the rollout of the company’s national trade counter network, which has grown from 11 to 45 outlets in the past year and is set to expand further with three new outlets each month.
Dexion-PSS installed of a 15,000 sq ft mezzanine floor, shelving and live storage throughout the facility, as well as its Stronglock adjustable pallet racking which created more than 4,000 pallet locations in VNA and some 10,000 locations within a wide aisle system.
Toolstation has to store a variety of heavy and light duty items so beam lengths and weight loading has been calculated to suit each category of product.
Toolstation supplies a range of power tolls, accessories, work wear, screws and fixings through its catalogue, web site and trade counter outlets located throughout the UK and Europe.
