DHL Express is launching an upgraded internet tracking service, designed to provide customers with enhanced tracking options for their shipments.
The improvements are based on customer feedback captured in extensive online surveys. One of the main enhancements is the ability to switch from a summary view of all results to a detailed view of a specific shipment without having to reload the page, using Asynchronous JavaScript and XML techonology.
Customers can also request email or SMS notifications that inform them of relevant status changes to their shipments directly from their tracking results.
The tracking system is also being launched in 40 languages to enhance usability around the world.
Simon Erdmann, vice president global e-commerce at DHL Express, said: “Online tracking has become an important aspect of shipping for both businesses and private consumers. For various reasons, customers want to be able to see where their shipments are and from wherever they are, anytime.
“Our aim is to provide customers with well-designed and reliable tracking services that are fast and offer useful features. The new design creates a faster and richer user experience as well as utilizing functionality supported by the newest web browsers.”
