Quartix has become the first major telematics provider to offer pay-as-you-go vehicle tracking.
Customers using the service will be able to cancel at any time after the first three months without penalty, in contrast to the three-year fixed-lease periods previously required.
An initial set-up fee of £45 or £95 including installation, is required, and rental of the tracking system starts at £19.50 per month; the customer returns the tracking unit after use.
Andy Walters, managing director, Quartix, said: “Our market research found there is a real need for flexibility. Customers simply do not want to make multi-year commitments in a time of recession.”
