UK-based textile manufacturer Formax has signed a deal with Geodis Calberson to boost its supply chain efficiencies.
Geodis was initially tasked with looking after all Formax’s European flows, but the agreement has been extended to include its air, sea and all road movements.
In the UK, Geodis now manages all its domestic, European and Scandinavian road freight from its facility in Leicester.
The contract sees Geodis Calberson deliver some 330 tonnes of materials each month to customers throughout Europe.
In addition, Geodis has also been awarded responsibility for Formax’s sea freight movements from the Far East, directly into the Leicester facility.
Jonathan Jaggar, operations director at Formax, said: “Formax operates in an increasingly competitive environment and many of the products that the company manufactures are becomingly commodity items as the industry matures. It is therefore important for the company to differentiate the market offering in all available aspects.”
