Marley Eternit, part of the Etex Group, has signed a five year contract with Wincanton, while existing customers Focus DIY and a global industrial gas supplier have renewed their long-term contracts.
The contracts will create combined sales of more than £72 million for the third party logistics company.
The deal with Marley Eternit will see Wincanton transporting over 280,000 tonnes of roofing products each year to customers across the UK.
It builds on an initial contract awarded to the company in July 2008 for two sites and will allow Wincanton to consolidate deliveries, reducing the number of vehicles on the road and minimise empty running.
Wincanton has also won a three-year extension contract from Focus DIY, as the two companies enter the fifteenth year of working together. Wincanton will manage the storage of more than 28 million cases of DIY products, as well as internet fulfilment operations from the dedicated Tamworth site, which serves the retailer’s 181 stores.
Wincanton has also extended its 15-contract with a global industrial gas supplier for a further two years, which will involve the national distribution of packaged gases in the UK.
