Drinks logistics company, Tradeteam, has crowned Colin Bowan who is based at Hams Hall in Birmingham its truck driver of the year.
Six finalists were shortlisted from more than 600 drivers across the UK. At an event held last month, each was asked to complete a driving theory test, tachograph test, a hazard perception test, a road drive to demonstrate their skills around a set course, a vehicle check exercise and a reversing exercise.
First prize was £3,000 of holiday vouchers and a trophy.
The other five finalists were Kevin Jenkin – Cambuslang, Frank Cooper – Knowsley, Marc Cook – Salfords, Barrie Evans – Ebbw Vale, Andy Bowden – Burton.
