Deteriorating demand and rising costs are the most important threats to business in Finland, according the fifth national logistics survey.
The survey of 2,705 respondents from the Finnish manufacturing and trading companies and logistics service providers was commissioned by the Ministry of Transport and Communications.
It found that logistics has a significant impact on the competitiveness of medium sized and large companies. And logistics costs of Finnish companies are on average 14.2 per cent of turnover, which is higher, compared to the previous survey.
The most important development needs of the companies were found to be enhancing customer service and cutting costs.
The share of transport costs has grown as the internal efficiency of the companies has improved, the survey said. But it also found that regional differences on operational prerequisites between southern parts of Finland and the rest of the country have grown.
