Wincanton Container Logistics’ operations director Elaine Miller has been crowned Woman of the Year at this year’s MAN everywoman awards in Transport and Logistics.
Miller began her career as an accountant with Russell Davies and became the first and only female director in the company’s 21 history. Under her guidance, profits increased to £3.3 million and when the company was sold to Wincanton in January 2008, she facilitated the integration.
Later in the same year, she facilitated a second integration, following the acquisition of the CEL group by Wincanton, resulting in a £1.8 million cost saving and the company becoming the UK’s market leader in container logistics services.
The everywoman in Transport and Logistics Awards, now in its second year, looks to support and acknowledge the role women play within such a male dominated industry.
