Food manufacturer Daniels Group is to deploy a web-based fleet tracking and management system across its refrigerated artics and trailer fleet.
The Fleetstar-Online system, supplied by online telematics provider Cybit, will help the company track vehicle performance in real-time.
Daniels will use the technology to report on vehicle productivity and to remotely monitor its Carrier and Thermo King refrigeration equipment.
James Cranfield, group distribution manager, Daniels Group, said: “We can now see vehicle activity more clearly, link drivers and their vehicles automatically and have a level of analysis that we didn’t have before. We will even be able to get intelligence on the trailers and refrigerated units, including monitoring refrigeration equipment and usage while the vehicle is empty.
“We are also committed to reducing our carbon footprint and Fleetstar will give us the data to support this initiative.”
