APC Overnight has delivered 3.5 million books in the past year for the children’s book specialist Peters Bookselling Services.
Ray Dyer, Peters’ operations director, said: “Working with APC Overnight has transformed the way we do business. Moving all of our deliveries to the network means that we can offer customers a next day quality service that has given us a distinct competitive edge. The proof is that last year we shipped 3.5 million books; that’s about 150,000 cartons for the year.”
Peters uses NetDespatch online booking and tracking, the innovative web-based system that APC Overnight integrated with Peters’ own automatic manifest system. This also caters for third-party collections and feeds proof-of-delivery information through to Peters’ customer extranet website – PetraNet.
Peters Bookselling Services has been involved in library supply and general bookselling since 1935 when John Sheldon Peters opened the company’s first shop in Moor Street Birmingham. The company is still firmly in the control of the Peters family, being totally owned by Malcolm Peters and his two sons, and is now the only specialist children’s library supplier in the country.
