Horticultural specialist Allensmore Nurseries has chosen a map-based routeing and scheduling system from Paragon Software Systems.
The system will help the Hertfordshire-based company’s transport management team to allocate the precise number of delivery vehicles needed for delivering its perishable products.
Consumer demand and seasonality of certain plants require highly accurate fleet management.
David Bowen, transport manager, Allensmore Nurseries, said: “We deliver to around 400 different sites, including Wyevale Garden Centres, Dobbies, Homebase and Makro as well as leading independent garden centres. It is imperative that we get our perishable products to our customers as quickly as possible.
“Paragon gives us the tools we need to optimise deliveries depending on the kinds of products ordered and determine how many vehicles we will need to fulfil our customers’ orders.”
The company is now looking to add live vehicle tracking to the system.
