Printing ink and pigments producer Sun Chemical has implemented a turnkey print and apply solution from Zetes at its plant in Badalona, Spain.
The system is designed to optimise the labelling of drums on finished product and boxes containing inks and varnishes.
The solution integrates with its new ERP system and was prompted by the Europe-wide rollout of SAP.
Zetes will also supply Sun Chemical with consumables and provide the maintenance service for the implemented systems.
The Project involves the implementation of four Zetes in-house developed print and apply systems for the lateral labelling of boxes and drums of paint and two security label application systems for the drums.
Sun Chemical has been able to automate its Badalona plant, optimising productivity and improving the traceability of its products.
The system also allows the company to label both drums and boxes on the same packaging line.
In addition, Zetes has supplied a number of Zebra ZM 600 printers for Sun Chemical’s distribution centres throughout Spain and Portugal.
