Alstons Cabinets, a manufacturer and assembler of high quality cabinets, has signed a contract with Ceva Logistics to manage all direct home deliveries and will make 300 deliveries per week throughout the UK and Ireland.
Alstons furniture is available in the UK from a number of furniture outlets, many of whom demand that it provides a direct home delivery (DHD) service.
The company makes all furniture to order, manufacturing items following orders placed in store or online.
Once the furniture is manufactured, Alstons deliver the finished goods from their manufacturing plant in Ipswich to a Ceva distribution centre in Northampton. Ceva then delivers the items to the customer’s home via its home delivery network.
Nick Cullen, managing director of Ceva Logistics UK & Ireland, said: “Ceva’s direct home delivery solution bypasses the retailer’s supply chain, reducing costs for the retailer and Alstons.”
