Citizen Systems Europe, the manufacturer of dot matrix, label and barcode printers, has launched an industrial printer complete with rewinder.
The CL-S700R is designed for re-labelling poorly or incorrectly labelled packages in logistics applications.
Packages can require re-labelling for a number of reasons, from being incorrectly labelled to begin with to being damaged in transit or storage. The company says that “printing new labels on demand with conventional printers can be time consuming, leading to unnecessary costs.”
However, the CL-S700R peels and presents each label as it is printed, rewinding the backing paper into the machine, which helps speed up the re-labelling process.
The printer’s HiOpen metal casing allows easy access to the internal mechanism, and all standard operations, including paper loading, are accessible from the front of the unit. Media can be changed within ten seconds, which the company reckons is up to ten times faster than competing printers.
The CL-S700R can print ten inches per second and accommodate a roll of media or backing/liner paper up to six inches in diameter.
The new printer features parallel, serial and USB interfaces as standard and internal Ethernet and Wireless LAN options can be added easily, providing remote control, configuration and monitoring.
