The UK’s Institute of Operations Management (IOM) has teamed up with The Association for Operations Management (APICS), from the United States to improve the availability of education, certification and membership programmes for professionals in operations and supply chain management throughout the UK.
APICS certification will now be accessible to members of the IOM and of its sister organisation The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (UK).
The partnership means that two key internationally recognised certification programmes (Certified in Production and Inventory Management, and Certified Supply Chain Professional) will now be available in the UK.
Leonie Edwards, manager of IOM, said: “We are proud and delighted to be the sole non-profit organisation to represent APICS in Great Britain. The partnership will enable the IOM to provide more comprehensive resources to operations and supply chain professionals throughout Great Britain and to bring an international perspective to our work.”
