PET plastic container manufacturer Constar has reported “significant savings” as a result of a storage solution from temporary building specialist Aganto.
The Yorkshire-based company which supplies PET (polyethylene terephthalate) plastic containers for applications across North America and Europe, opted for a temporary system, as a way of reducing its “increasingly expensive” off-site warehouse rent costs.
Constar initially specified a 1,125 sq m unit complete with lighting and speed doors enabling easy access. Aganto installed the facility in one week.
The company then requested a further 3,250 sq m unit from Aganto, finally adding a further 750 sq m extension to the first building, providing more space to accommodate all of its storage and handling activities.
Project manager at Constar International, Pat Atkinson, said: ”Bringing all our storage in-house has made the whole process more manageable, and the option to choose a temporary over permanent build means the transition was made both quickly and with reduced costs.
“The cost savings we achieved were also almost immediate and have allowed us to invest in other areas of our business.”
