Jade Communications, provider of mobile voice and data communications technologies for business, has signed an agreement with mobile computing and wireless data collection specialist, Psion Teklogix.
Jade will now offer Psion Teklogix’s range of mobile computing technology and will focus in particular on equipping field service operations with its Mobility as a Service application running on fully rugged PDA devices, such as the Ikôn.
Mark Brackley, managing director of Jade Communications, said: “More and more businesses are looking to use rugged PDAs to mobilise their workforce, automate paper based systems, improve customer service, cut operating costs and improve profitability.”
Jade’s Mobility as a Service package allows field service companies to outsource mobile data communications. The package includes mobile devices, field service software, accessories and service desk support.
Typical functionality available with the package comprises the ability to view real-time job updates from your field engineers, full visibility of spare part stock available on vans, availability of customer data to engineers as they work in the field and the ability to track engineers¹ movements via GPS functionality.
