Logistics service provider SCA Transforest has implemented RedPrairie’s warehouse management software at seven of its European terminals, with two remaining sites going live later this year.
The company has seen an reduction in distribution costs and streamlined warehouse processes following installation.
In addition, SCA Transforest is able to serve more forestry product customers and can offer logistics services to other industries, which it was unable to do before due to the limitations of its previous system.
The system is now live in Sweden, Finland, Ireland, the Netherlands, and the UK, with sites in Portugal and Germany to go live by September 2009.
Thomas Granberg, system owner at SCA Transforest, said: “RedPrairie has helped streamline our warehouse processes. The system has meant more efficient use of our warehouse space and we are now able to manage higher volumes. The direct loading of goods to ships or trucks has been greatly improved. We now have a real-time system giving us visibility across our various terminals making planning much easier than before.”
