Wood flooring company Lionvest Trading has signed a long-term contract with Meachers Group to accommodate more than 1,000 pallets of stock at its new warehousing facility in Majestic Road, Nursling.
Under the agreement, Meachers will provide Lionvest with a number of value-added services including collecting their containers from the Port of Southampton, devanning, storage and then onward transport to the company’s UK customer base.
Mark Warrington, transport manager at Lionvest Trading (UK), said: “The relationship with our warehouse and its staff is a fundamental part of the smooth running of our business and the lynchpin of our commitment to excellent customer service. Meachers will ensure that Lionvest’s stock can now be moved with a minimum of delay to anywhere within the UK within 48 hours from order.”
Lionvest will be able to access current stock levels and movement figure via the internet using Meachers’ warehouse system, providing it with accurate, timely information as well as complete visibility across the supply chain.
The system uses radio and barcode technology to scan goods in and out of the warehouse.
