P&O Ferrymasters has appointed Wim Blomme intermodal director, ahead of further expansion.
Blomme is currently general manager for intermodal and contract logistics and has been with the company for 14 years. He has experience in warehousing and distribution, groupage, part loads and contract management.
He takes over from Bart Verbeke who leaves the company in September.
Bas Belder, managing director of P&O Ferrymasters, said: “Intermodal business has become an integral part of our business portfolio over the last decade under the visionary leadership of Bart Verbeke and we are committed to further Intermodal expansion.
“There is a growing demand from our customers right across Europe for tailor-made, cost-effective, environmentally friendly transport solutions and hand-in-hand with this is a growth in business opportunities arising in Central and Eastern Europe, and Russia in particular.
“Wim has overseen some pioneering projects in his current role, including our new Intermodal transport into Greece and his knowledge and experience will be vital to the development of our future intermodal strategy and expansion.”
