Chris Grime, principal fleet engineer with Lancashire County Council’s Engineering Services department, has become president of the Society of Operations Engineers which represents some 17,000 engineers and engineering professionals.
Grime has been a member of the SOE’s Professional Sector, the Institute of Road Transport Engineers, for twenty-five years.
He said: “I feel extremely privileged to be taking on the role of SOE President. Having spent five years as a Board member and the majority of my working life in membership, I am committed to strategies to increase our relevance to members – whose development will always be our priority.”
