Stobart Rail has been shortlisted as one of three preferred bidders for a £25m contract to turn Carlisle Airport into a logistics hub for its sister company Stobart Logistics.
The transformation includes the building of a 400,000 sq ft warehouse, as well as renovating a mile of runway.
