Norbert Dentressangle is set to press ahead with its business development plans within its Transport Services division, after 75 per cent of its union members voted in favour of the company offer.
Under the terms of the agreement guaranteed working hours will be reduced from 48 to 44 hours per week and pay has been frozen until March 2010. Norbert originally proposed an eight our reduction in hours.
The deal will establish a platform for the company to develop its dedicated delivery operation and shared user network services for a range of customers across a number of industry sectors, including automotive, manufacturing, chemical and retail.
Deborah Parker, HR director at Norbert Dentressangle Transport Services, said: “The industry faces a number of challenges and the marketplace is extremely competitive. With the specific changes we have made we are now in a commercially sound position to take these on.
The agreement was recommended to its members by the Unite trade union.
