Sainsbury’s has appointed Home Delivery Network as its primary carrier of parcels to customers, following the launch of its online non-food business.
The supermarket giant will use HDN’s 24 and 48 hour services, as well as its Saturday delivery service.
David James, head of non-food logistics for Sainsbury’s, said: “The extension of our online proposition into non-food requires us to provide our customers with a consistently high level of delivery service to the home as well as the ability for the to have their parcel delivered to suit their busy lifestyles.”
Ceva Logistics won a contract with Sainsbury’s in June to provide nationwide two man white glove home delivery services.
