Wine merchant Boutinot has chosen London City Bond for a £6 million contract that involves storage of more than 200,000 cases of wine at LCB’s Barking warehouse, as well as picking and delivery to 800 on-trade and off-trade customers across the UK.
Peter Smith, logistics director of Boutinot, said: “The location and first class facilities at Barking are perfect for fulfilling our requirements across the country, particularly around London.”
The 273,000 sq ft Barking warehouse opened last year and is capable of storing three million cases. It has increased London City Bond’s storage capacity by more than 40 per cent across the UK.
Jeff Stanton, non-executive chairman of London City Bond, said: “The Boutinot deal takes our new customers to more than 40 over the last year.”
