Norbert Dentressangle has opened a new distribution centre in Hounslow, west London to improve network coverage across the south of England.
The facility, which measures almost 50,000 sq ft, will allow the Transport Services division of the business to expand its service capability throughout the region.
It is located in the former British Airways Cargo building within the Green Lane Cargo Centre at Fairway Trading Estate.
Norbert Dentressangle has made significant investment in converting it for their needs. It is 14 miles from central London, five minutes from Heathrow Airport and links with the M4 and M25.
The hub features a warehouse management system to monitor and update stock levels in order to improve efficiency and maintain delivery accuracy.
It will operate on a 24-hour, five day a week basis and run a mixed fleet of delivery vehicles, as well as creating around 70 new jobs.
Stuart Lloyd, sales and marketing director at Norbert Dentressangle Transport Services, said: “The new Hounslow site further strengthens our operations and reinforces Norbert Dentressangle’s commitment to support customers.
“It enables us to more effectively support the requirements of our current customers and to target new business, particularly from the London area.”
